A question we’ve been asked a fair bit is why volunteer? And why Romania?
2 main reasons:
1. we’ve wanted to go to Europe for a while now. We had hoped to live in London for a year but sadly that didn’t eventuate due to the business going badly for a bit. Volunteering gives us a great opportunity to actually live with the locals for a decent amount of time and see places we’ve only see on travel shows
2. it’s fair to say recently that we’ve gotten into our comfort zone a bit and haven’t done anything “new” in quite a while. Deb’s last big change was studying full time and then becoming a nurse whilst Glen’s previous new venture was joining Iugo. Both were years ago
Volunteering just feels right as well. It’s easy to forget just how good we have it – so donating your time and energy to those who don’t have it quite so easy is something we should do, if we can.
